SUNSHINE MARY: How transgenderism might inadvertently divide and conquer feminism.
Liberal feminists’ support of transgenderism forces them to hold two opposing beliefs simultaneously:
1. that gender is a social construct; therefore any inferiority that is detected in women is the result of sexism, and legal and social policies should be enacted, including spending lots of tax-payer money, to right these inequities,
but also…
2. that gender is a biological reality and thus transgendered people should be supported in their quest to look and behave like extreme versions of what traditionalists (i.e. normal people) believe about gender – that it is a biological reality, that there are only really two (male and female) and your sex heavily influences your behavior and preferences.
So far they’ve been okay with the cognitive dissonance that transgenderism causes. The problem for them is that other more normal people are beginning to notice that there is something entirely illogical about their beliefs.
This same problem arose when a woman tried to enroll her son in a Coloradan Girl Scout troop. At first, she was told that he couldn’t join because “he has boy parts.” (An aside: Note the absence of a father in the article. Only a mother and grandmother are mentioned.) Later, Girl Scouts of Colorado stated officially that any child could join who “lives life as a girl.” The statement thus recognizes “gender” norms (since living life as a girl presumably differs from living life as a boy) even as the international organization with which the scouts are associated seeks the deconstruction of such norms (see also here).
VOX DAY: “Anti-racism” is a code word.
Attacks on “racism” have never been anything more than cynical attempts to leverage minority power in America at the expense of the majority.
A group of employees at South Puget Sound Community College sent out an invitation to all 300 staffers.
The “Staff, Faculty and Administrators of Color” encouraged employees to reply to the invitation to find out the confidential date and time of what was being called a “happy hour” to “build support and community” for people of color.
The invite made it clear white people were not invited. . . .
If you haven’t figured out that “raciss” is merely a rhetorical weapon and minorities have no more interest in equality than feminists do, you are very, very slow on the uptake.

INSIDE (or to the west of) the Hajnal line we find:
- Late marriage and 10-20% of adults never marrying
- Small families, either nuclear or stem
- Higher average IQs than outside the line
- The highest concentrations of human accomplishment in europe
- More democracy
- Greater civic-mindedness or orientation towards the commonweal
- Generally low perceived corruption
- High individualism
- And low homicide rates in the 19th century
Why? . . .
Medieval Christianity weakened the old patrilineal clannish (or kindred-based) systems because it insisted upon the avoidance of cousin marriage which reduced the genetic ties between extended family members and set the stage for the selection of very different behavioral patterns in parts of northwestern Europe — “core” Europe. Orthodox Christianity in eastern Europe also banned close cousin marriage, but this came later in that area of the world (since they adopted Christianity later), and enforcement was not as firm as in the west . . .
In a society where one doesn’t have an extended family to fall back on, it might be very useful to possess traits which enable the successful collaboration with non-family — being trusting and trustworty, for instance. A society of such individuals might very likely: be comprised of small-sized families; have a higher average IQ since individuals had to fend for themselves more; [etc.] . . .
The earliest start to what I’ve (jokingly!) dubbed The Outbreeding Project in Europe that I’ve found so far occurred in northeast France/the Low Countries and southeastern England. This, I think, is the core of “core Europe” . . .
Liberal democracy . . . starts in this core of “core Europe” — it was pretty much invented by the English. The Dutch pretty much invented capitalism (per Daniel Hannan). And T.Greer points out that this is exactly where the great economic divergence began earliest . . .
THEORIZING ABOUT the Modern Birth Control Scam.
Look at how much the government, parents, and society as a whole encourage birth control. Of course, young girls are pushed to take these pregnancy measures even more seriously, when, coincidentally (NOT) they are actually the most fertile they will ever be in their lives. . . .
Meanwhile, as the wall looms closer, the ability to be fertile drops considerably. And when this time comes, in comes modern medicine to save the day, with a million different methods to get pregnant that only cost the price of tuition to send two of the little buggers to an Ivy League school.
What a brilliant con.
I think he gives doctors too much credit for having supposedly thought this through. We didn’t have a bunch of fertility treatment doctors wandering around waiting for chumpettes to wait too long for children. Feminism hit first, and the doctors followed market demand. It’s still a scam, but it’s an ideological scam first.

By now, everyone must have read the news articles about Rachel Canning, the 18-year-old New Jersey woman who is suing her parents to require them to continue to pay her private school tuition, and also to pay her tuition and living expenses while she attends college. . . . Why didn’t he just dismiss the whole thing, they wonder.
What many people do not know is that New Jersey and a growing number of states (Alabama, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah and Washington) have enacted laws that either authorize or require courts to order a noncustodial parent to pay a child’s college expenses, as part of the parent’s “child support” obligation. . . .
Why do people become outraged if a court considers ordering married parents to pay for an adult child’s college education, but think nothing of — and in fact, through their legislators, require or encourage — court-ordered parental responsibility for the same kind of expense when the parent in question is a divorced or never-married one? The initial pleading in Rachel Canning’s case does not make an Equal Protection argument, but a pretty good one could be made. What legitimate state interest is served by discriminating against divorced and unwed parents with respect to a financial obligation of this magnitude? There is none. That being the case, it is only logical that an adult child should be able to sue her parents, whether they are unmarried or married, for her college costs and living expenses while attending college. . . .
Rachel Canning is not an aberration. She is exactly what people should expect when they give unbridled authority to their governments to micromanage family life.
TRIGGER WARNINGS Trigger Me.
Trigger warnings began on feminist blogs as a way of warning readers that the content contained material about domestic violence or rape or even disordered eating. . . . Then trigger warnings spread. And spread. A virus of warnings infected blogs, public art, and now classrooms.
Some students and professors argue that nearly everything should come with a trigger warning. Mrs. Dalloway? Trigger warning: suicidal tendencies. The Great Gatsby? Trigger warning: suicide, domestic abuse, graphic violence. Think I’m making this up? I’m not. Those warnings come from a student op-ed in Rutgers’s The Daily Targum.
Annoying, this “trigger warning” talk. That’s one way of looking at it. Here’s another: “Talk about a goldmine of tactical intelligence on the leftist cognitive model.”
Imagine, preparing for a Presidential Debate, with a feminist-compiled list of innocuous themes which perfectly disable liberal feminist brains, to the point that many feminists actually black out just from hearing these ideas. Now imagine that the Democratic Presidential Nominee opposite you in the debate is Hillary Clinton, who is herself a feminist with exactly that type of cognitive model. That is dog-whistle heaven.

It’s hard to imagine that other racial groups within the party shared the bloodlust for ousting Kim. So what you’re left with are some indeed diverse—but probably unhappy and fractious—Democrats.

CULTURAL ENRICHMENT: Previously Deported Illegal Alien Convicted of Human Trafficking Children in Houston.
Upon arrival, agents discovered 26 illegal immigrants in the house being held hostage, two of whom were children. The hostages were all in their underwear, kept in locked rooms with boards over the windows. The living conditions in the home were described as “deplorable.”
The illegal immigrants were apparently “sold” as soon as they arrived in Houston. In order to be released, their families were forced to pay a handsome amount–if no money was received, the smuggled aliens were often threatened with death. . . .
The recent incident is not the first time Castro-Flores has been involved in a scheme involving illegal immigrants. He was deported in 2011 after being convicted of conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens in July, 2009. He subsequently re-entered the U.S. illegally and became involved in the newest case of human smuggling.

Sheryl Sandberg . . . yet again takes time to lecture the women of the world about how we are supposed to be just like her – finding all our Personal Fulfillments in being enslaved to a corporation that does not care about us.
A reader sent me a link to a story in the WSJ which includes an interview with Sheryl Sandberg and Anna Maria Chávez in which they discuss how it is really the existence of the word “bossy” in the English lexicon that is responsible for the fact that there aren’t more women willing to essentially abandon their families in order to be corporate slaves who rise through the ranks of power. . . .
Ask yourself this question, reader: What might Sheryl Sandberg’s motivation be for saying that our country’s economic growth depends upon having women “fully engaged in the workforce”? Why would she be so eager for married mothers to place their children in day orphanages and be concerned about their boss’ wants and needs rather than their families’ wants and needs?
G.K. Chesterton in 1927 wrote of “a muddled idea that women are free when they serve their employers but slaves when they help their husbands.” In a way, that’s feminism in a nutshell.

Why would you want a man who agreed to this? Why would a man want a woman who thought like this?
Keep in mind, her message is not for future COOs, her message is for the rest of you organ donors who need to be transitioned from 9 to 5 to 8 to 6, e.g. the Cosmo demo[graphic]. The Time Magazine demo[graphic] already gave up on love, after a decade and a half of a narcissistic marriage they only need to be convinced to work Saturdays or spend more. Either will do.
The single greatest obstacle to turning women into fully productive members of the workforce, i.e. batteries, is not men obstructing them . . . If the thing that is keeping women out of the underpaid labor force is “family”, then family must go, and if what pulls them towards family is love then love has to be a fantasy.

NON SEQUITUR: Alabama legislator rants about racism with regard to “fetal heartbeat” bill.
Holmes, who apparently needs no help seeing racism in just about anything, claimed, in the words of Kala Kachmar at the Montgomery Advertiser, that “99 percent of the white legislators in the chamber would raise their hand to say they’re against abortion, and that same 99 percent would make their daughters get an abortion if they were impregnated by a black man.” . . .
“You ain’t gonna have no little black baby if you got two other white children, and then she’s gonna have a little black baby running around there in the living room or in the den with the rest of them,” he said. “They’re not going to let that happen. You know that and I know that.”
Holmes, D-Montgomery, also said he’d mortgage his house and bring $100,000 in cash — in a briefcase — tomorrow if anyone could show “a whole bunch of whites” who have adopted black children in Alabama.
Evidently, he’s unaware that much of the lack of adoption of black children by non-black couples is due to racism on the part of social workers: “Transracial adoption is a volcanically touchy issue — the National Association of Black Social Workers has deployed weapons-grade rhetoric characterizing the practice as ‘cultural genocide.’ That ideology has had predictable consequences: Black children spend more time in foster care than others, and in general have less luck in finding permanent adoptive homes.”
GOVERNMENT IS JUST A WORD FOR THE THINGS WE DO TOGETHER: School forces half-naked, sopping wet student to stand outside, frostbite results.
A Minnesota public high school was so committed to obeying its fire drill policy to the exact letter of the law that it forced a female student–dressed only in a swimsuit, and sopping wet–to stand outside in the freezing cold for ten minutes. As a result, she suffered frostbite. . . .
It was 5 degrees below zero in St. Paul that day. With the windchill, it was 25 degrees below zero.
Hagen-Tietz asked to wait inside an employee’s car, or at the elementary school across the street. But administrators believed that this would violate official policy, and could get the school in trouble, so they opted to simply let the girl freeze.

We first had this story last week . . . and although we knew those arrested were Somalis (by their names) it was one of those ho-hum here-we-go-again stories and posted it at the facebook page ‘Diversity’s Dark Side‘ and didn’t bother to post it here.
Now after seeing it on Drudge yesterday and in the British press (with photos) the news becomes how many stories can be written about it without saying the word Somali so that the average reader, not attuned to names like Ali Yusuf Barre, Abdirashid Yasin Duad, and Mohamed Awil Suleiman, might actually have the full picture of what is happening in the suburbs surrounding the Twin Cities.

Marathon women’s race, gender [sic] bonus. “Amane Gobena of Ethiopia won the women’s race and Gebo Burka of Ethiopia won the men’s race in the 29th Asics L.A. Marathon. Gobena, 31, won in 2 hours 27 minutes 37 seconds, collecting $25,000 for the victory. Burka, 26, clocked a 2:10:37 to win a marathon for the first time. He also won $25,000. Gobena won $50,000 for winning the gender [sic] ‘challenge.’ The women were given a 17:41 head start and Gobena finished 41 seconds ahead of Burka.”
So, she lost to the man by seventeen minutes and is rewarded with triple his winnings. Another win for equality.
W.F. PRICE: In Washington State, Domestic Violence Accusation May Lead to Gun Seizures.
The Washington state senate has passed a bill that gives judges the power to seize people’s guns if they find them to be a “credible threat” to women in their lives. No conviction or jury trial necessary. . . .
Washington state residents, like pretty much all Americans, can lose the right to bear arms for any DV conviction (or plea bargain), whether it is a felony or not. Say you get charged with assault for grabbing your phone away from your girlfriend during an argument. If convicted, that means permanent loss of the right to bear arms. . . .
But this bill is indeed worse in some ways. Here, there needs be no proof of assault, no conviction, no real evidence to speak of. All a woman would have to do is show up in front of a judge and swear that some man had threatened her, and she feels scared. The man is then summoned to appear in front of a judge. If he can’t prove he is not dangerous, then the police seize his weapons.
SUNSHINE MARY: What is happening to children’s literature?
Classic literature isn’t used much anymore, but the new literature is mostly badly written, dull, upsetting, and uninteresting, mostly progressivist propaganda. Virtually every book for girls in the age range of 7 to 12 seems to include some kind of self-conscious gender-bending or gender “stereotype” smashing theme.
I know that many of my readers are parents and would probably like to know of good books for children between the ages of 7 and 15. I will start by recommending the following five books.

ED WHELAN: Can a For-Profit Corporation Have a Racial Identity?
The Obama administration is arguing in the HHS mandate cases that closely held, for-profit corporations aren’t persons capable of exercising religion under RFRA and that the corporate owners also don’t have any RFRA claims because the HHS mandate applies directly only against the corporations.
Will those who (wrongly) think that for-profit corporations are incapable of exercising religion for purposes of RFRA object as vigorously to the concept that for-profit corporations can have a racial identity for purposes of Title VI? If not, why not?
It’s not about consistency or principle. It’s about benefiting friends and harming enemies.

William “Ray” Arthur, a teacher and wrestling coach at Petoskey Senior High School, and Miriam Chanski, a Coopersville kindergarten teacher, tried to quit the teachers’ union after Michigan adopted legislation to become the 24th right-to-work state in the U.S.
Both Arthur and Chanski wrote letters informing the MEA that they wished to leave, but neither was aware that, according to an obscure part of the union’s 1973 bylaws, members can resign only during the month of August. Though the information for the August opt-out period is technically on the MEA website, it is buried and doesn’t pop up in most simple searches.

The general story we tell ourselves about men and women is that women are naturally cooperative and community oriented and men are naturally competitive and individually oriented, and yet the evidence that Bergner has amassed suggests that exactly the opposite is true: men are more likely to cooperate with one another for the good of the community and women are more likely to compete with one another to achieve personal goals. Recent research into the effect of status on relationships between women seems to bear this out: women are happy to cooperate with other women as long as they perceive their status to be equal. The second a higher status woman enters the scene, it’s a bitchfight! . . .
What does this have to do with female desire? Well, it’s the beginning of a narcissistic theory of libido: women are driven by deeply felt personal needs rather than broader “catch the best genes that I can for the benefit of my children” motivations.
The actual empirical evidence about women’s sexuality and desire is exactly the opposite of what we are collectively taught. Women don’t choose the best genetic material to have sex with: men do. That’s why men prefer the .7 waist to hip ratio almost universally. It’s a marker of reproductive fitness. Virtually all the physical characteristics men prefer are markers of reproductive fitness. . . . It’s actually women who make their reproductive choices based on insatiable personal desires.

Men are seen, of course, by the feminist movement and by the left who are led by the same individuals as those with the feminist-movement mentality. And they see the best way to emasculate the nation–certainly to cut it off at its knees–is to start with the children. And the biggest threat there are little boys.
If you can change the mentality of little boys, train them from an early age to not be who they are–and that’s, of course, what the left’s general attitude is for everyone in this country… Ironically, I think the most difficult people to train in that way are little boys.

NOT THAT THERE’S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT: Sexual predator jailed after claiming to be ‘transgender’ in order to assault women in shelter.
Christopher Hambrook, 37, leaned on the ever expanding legal “rights” offered to people who “identify” with the sex opposite their biology. Under the name “Jessica,” he was able to get into the women’s shelters, where he sexually assaulted several women in 2012, the Toronto Sun reports. . . .
Hambrook was a former stripper and escort from Quebec before moving to Toronto in 2009 and posing as a woman. While in Montreal he served four years in jail for a 2002 sexual assault of a five-year-old girl who was a family friend and for raping a mentally challenged 27-year-old woman while on bail for the first crime, reports the Toronto Sun. . . .
Ontario amended its Human Rights Code to make “gender identity” and “gender expression” prohibited grounds for discrimination in 2012. The bill’s sponsors said at the time that the so-called “Toby’s Law” would open the door to “social change” in Canada.
Family advocates argued at the time that the NDP sponsored bill would create a legal right for a man who calls himself ‘transgender’ to use rooms and facilities intended for women so as to exploit women.
The bill was subsequently dubbed the “bathroom bill” by its critics. Allowing a man who calls himself ‘transgender’ to enter a woman’s area has already proved problematic in the United States.
In 2012 a college in Washington state decided it would not prevent a 45-year-old man who presents himself as a transgender “female” from lounging naked in a women’s locker room in an area frequented by girls as young as six. Teenage girls on a high school swim team were using the facilities when they saw “Colleen” Francis deliberately exposing male genitalia through the glass window in a sauna. Police told one outraged mother that the university could not bar the biological male from the premises.

ADVICE: Don’t Marry An Overeducated Woman.
IQ and credential fetishists love to write about the low rate of divorce among the overeducated, but what they always fail to grasp is that a big reason for this is the decrease in sexual market options among the high IQ that accompanies their later in life marriages. So yeah, you get a more faithful wife with crows’ feet and a saggy butt. Lack of options = stability. Worth the trade-off?
If anything, it looks as if the best bet, if you want to avoid divorce, is to 1. skip marriage altogether or 2. marry a woman who will be a stay at home mom and won’t make more money than you. That means, in practice, avoiding women with masters or doctoral degrees, since it is likely they will have upper quintile incomes.
