THE GROWING TERROR THREAT From Radical Women Converts. “Muslim husbands and even the Muslim community at large may question their suitability and devotion: it is not unusual for a female convert to be told that she is ‘not a proper Muslim wife.’ Consequently, whether out of a need to please or to prove her mettle, for some women the response is simply to travel deeper into the orthodoxy. They may raise funds for jihad, or assist in recruiting male jihadists–or, as is the case with some of the female members of the Dutch radical Hofstadgroep network, join in the sitting-room gatherings of their radical husbands and lovers, absorbing the discussions–and the beliefs.”

UK: Children who spend time in nurseries ‘more likely to develop behavioural problems’.

The study, led by Prof Alan Stein, of Oxford’s Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, found that “spending more time in day care centres, over the total period was a predictor of total problem scores”.

“Children who spent more time in day care centres were more likely to be hyperactive,” it said. “Children receiving more care by childminders were more likely to have peer problems.”

Related: Are There Long-Term Effects of Early Child Care?Children with more experience in center settings continued to manifest somewhat more problem behaviors through sixth grade. The fact that this result was not moderated by age means that this seemingly adverse consequence of center-based care did not dissipate as did so many other effects of amount of child care on social functioning detected previously.”

About 26 percent of children who spend more than 45 hours per week in day care go on to have serious behavior problems at kindergarten age. In contrast, only 10 percent of kids who spend less than 10 hours per week have equivalent problems.

ARE ANTI-BULLYING PROGRAMS backfiring?

University of Texas at Arlington criminologist Seokjin Jeong analyzed data collected from 7,000 students from all 50 states. . . .

The study concluded that students at schools with anti-bullying programs might actually be more likely to become a victim of bullying. It also found that students at schools with no bullying programs were less likely to become victims. . . .

The student videos used in many campaigns show examples of bullying and how to intervene. But Jeong says they may actually teach students different bullying techniques — and even educate about new ways to bully through social media and texting.

THE TROUBLE with Talking about “Gayness”.

In his Histoire de la Sexualité, Michel Foucault argues that homosexuality is a social construct, and one constructed terribly recently at that. “As defined by the ancient civil or canonical codes,” he writes, “sodomy was a category of forbidden acts; their perpetrator was nothing more than the juridical subject of them.” The late-nineteenth century saw this classical view displaced, however, when the sodomite was set up as the bearer of a distinct and pervasive psychological persuasion. “Homosexuality appears as one of the forms of sexuality,” Foucault writes, “when it was transposed from the practice of sodomy onto a kind of interior androgyny, a hermaphroditism of the soul.” . . .

While social constructs may be often benign, and may be sometimes even beneficial or necessary, there is good reason to doubt that sexual orientation is such a constructive construct. First of all, the heterosexuality-homosexuality distinction is a construct that is dishonest about its identity as a construct, masquerading as it does as a natural categorization, applicable to all people in all times and places according to the typical objects of their sexual desires (albeit with perhaps a few more menu items on offer for the more politically correct categorizers). Claiming to be not simply an accidental nineteenth-century invention but a timeless truth about human sexual nature, this framework puts on airs, deceiving those who adopt its distinctions into believing that they are worth far more than they really are.

HENRY OLSEN: Setting the Record Straight About the White Working Class. “Levinson shows that large majorities of working class whites think increased immigration is bad for America and favor increased border security rather than immigration reform. But they also strongly oppose free trade agreements. Pew found that the poorest and least-educated part of the white working class, labeled ‘Disaffecteds,’ think free trade agreements are bad for the United States by a two-to-one margin. These people are being pressed by competition from foreigners at home (immigration) and abroad (free trade), and they don’t like it. Conservatives therefore often do not gain the political advantage on immigration that they seek because their free trade views convince working class whites that conservatives are not on their side.”

A major difficulty with free trade is that it isn’t. If the government ties your hands with draconian regulations, then you find it hard to compete with countries that have greater economic liberty.

ROBERT WEISSBERG: The War Against Offensive Team Nicknames. “The issue of offensiveness is just a façade. The real aim is the wussification of America. INJUSTICE: Student expelled, kicked off football team, loses scholarship, and nationally demonized over rape claim eventually dropped and very likely false.

This case lasted a year and a half in the courts, and the charge was dropped the day of jury selection. Sometimes it takes that long to find out how compelling a case really is, and to assemble all the necessary parties in a professional adversarial system. But according to Title IX regulations – in particular the Department of Education’s Dear Colleague letter of April 4, 2011 – higher education administrators have to conclude their own investigation and decide on a “remedy” (punishment) in just 60 days. And usually they scramble to get it decided well before that, lest they appear in any way to appear soft on sexual assault – which could come up later in a Dept. of Ed investigation should any rape accusers file a Title IX complaint. . . .

Also: notice how the panel for student affairs at Temple University, who work with the Title IX Coordinator on cases like these, are comprised of four [white] women and zero men. All of them are paid comfortable salaries to wreck the lives of students.

A HORROR STORY from a family law court.

I forgot the icing on the cake. I had a prenuptial agreement. The judge (female judge, what a coincidence) threw it out. While I had her “boyfriend” try to testify about 3 times, on my side. One time the judge said she had a doctor appointment and had to leave in the early afternoon. So it’s over, you all have to leave without testifying. I had 3 witnesses, 2 of them out of state who made 4 hour long trips. My lawyer said, can this guy testify for like 5 minutes, and you be done with it, so we don’t have to subpoena him out of state again?

The answer was “no”. The degree of contempt by the court is incredible.

Good to know:

I did the mail-order-bride thing because of bad luck with the locals. You know, young, 20 or 30-something brainwashed zombies. I thought another culture, which I know, would be different. In the eastern Europe, the ratio between men and women is very tilted to favor men, historically, since WWII times. They don’t do this kind of thing there. You dump a man and you will never find another. If the court awards alimony, it’s usually $50 or something, not $1500 per month. My other friends from eastern Europe tell me they know girls who are drop dead gorgeous and cannot find anyone. There are no economic incentives to divorce over there. Divorce is not a social or economic possibility, just the opposite of here.

You know what happens, whether you chose somebody from eastern Europe or Philippines or any other non-man hating culture, they very quickly learn how they game is played here and adapt and become just like the locals. This was the part that I totally miscalculated. So the immigrants become totally different from the culture where they came from. Takes about 5 years. Here, men are replaceable and disposable.

A GOOD CASE FOR GOING GALT: The scary reality facing feminists.

If women are so secure in themselves and, thanks to feminism, don’t need to define themselves by what men think of them, then why are feminist women so angry about the low opinion the majority of men have of them? Why do they get so angry upon hearing that men see slutty women as only useful for sexual activity? You cannot simultaneously say that you don’t care about someone’s opinion of you while at the same time being enraged by their opinion of you.

One of the core pillars of feminism seems to be trying to control how men think about women. We want to be seen as smart, so by fiat order we’ll command men to see us as equally intelligent. We want to be seen as having the ability to be sexually promiscuous, so we’ll command men to hold a positive opinion of sluttery. We want to be seen as beautiful at 200 pounds, so we’ll command men to find us hot despite our obesity.

But it doesn’t work. . . .

It is scary to imagine that men will stop doing what they are told by women to do. It is scary to feminists in particular because, instead of being dependent on one man like I am, they are dependent on men as a group to fund them.

Men pay the majority of taxes in the United States. Without men’s taxes, student financial aid for Women’s Studies degrees will dry up. Without men’s taxes, baby mamas will starve. Without men financing it, women who are being placed into corporate leadership simply as a response to affirmative action and who then quit these jobs after a year to write tear-filled articles in the Atlantic about work-life balance, demanding even more subsidies from men to ensure that women never need to suffer the consequences for their stupid choices, will cease. I only have to manage my husband’s opinion of me in order to secure his provisioning; feminists have to control all men’s opinions of them in order to secure their provisioning. Hence the need to regulate how men perceive women, and a noticeable outpouring of fire ants from the feminist colony any time a group of men starts to express negative views of modern women. The reality of men’s views is very scary to women.

ANTI-BULLYING CAMPAIGNS: What’s the end game? Good response in the comments:

Anti-bullying campaigns have the effect of producing obedient (or at least submissive) children who rely on the proper authorities to solve their problems. If these habits of mind carry over into adulthood, they become obedient citizens who rely on the state to solve their problems.

Here’s another:

Allowing human beings to resolve their own conflicts builds a sense of self esteem and confidence that lasts a lifetime. It makes the intervention of the State in its myriad forms unnecessary. It teaches us that this is a world of conflicts and adversities which can- if handled properly- result in resolutions and benefits.

The State seeks to supplant in all ways and at all times every human interaction so that the entire population either becomes dependent upon it or can be labeled as an enemy of it. The State is the personification of the bully, it simply hates competition, either from other bullies or from those who have learned how to effectively deal with them.

THE SUICIDE RATE AMONG COLLEGE AGE MEN is four times greater than among females. “Perhaps the most vexing issue is that colleges and universities have not responded seriously to the fact—not a guess, not a hunch—the fact that the rate of young male suicides is so much greater than that of females during the college years. Why this has not become a topic for study and simple human concern is troubling.”

Approximately 60 million women are ‘missing’ in India. The cultural reasons for this femicide do not magically disappear with migration. A girl’s right to life has to be a basic tenet of any feminist position and cannot be compromised by an absolutist pro-choice narrative.”

DUKE LACROSSE update.

The Supreme Court has declined to hear the falsely accused players’ appeal of the 4th circuit’s dismissal of most of their case. . . .

It’s worth reiterating the breathtaking precedent that the Court allowed to stand. From here on out in the 4th Circuit, there’s no federal cause of action against a town or city when the municipality’s police department: (a) turns over a police investigation to a local prosecutor; and (b) stands aside as that prosecutor and police officers manufacture evidence with which to indict innocent people for a crime that never occurred—provided that (a) the police are perfectly candid with their co-conspirator (the prosecutor) that there’s no evidence on which to base the indictment; and (b) a grand jury returns indictments, even if, as occurred in the lacrosse case, the indictment resulted from misleading or outright false testimony from one of the police officers.

And so she was allowed to continue harming people, over and over again.  In 2010, she was arrested on charges of attempted murder, arson, assault, identity theft, resisting arrest, and child abuse.  She was convicted at a jury trial of several misdemeanor charges, among them child abuse.  In 2011, she was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend.  He later died.  At the time of writing, the case is still pending.

In the early 1950′s, less than 5 percent of the workforce required state licenses (federal and local data were unavailable then). Today, 29 percent of workers said they needed a government license to do their job. Throw in those who needed a certification or said they would eventually need some form of government approval and the share grows to 38 percent.
