From a retraction notice: “After an investigation by the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the MCW concluded that Dr Aggarwal knowingly and intentionally falsified data, specifically Figures 1A and 1D.”

From a statement by the college: “The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences convened a special committee to investigate allegations that Nitin Aggarwal falsified information in his doctoral dissertation. The thesis was found to be scientifically valid, and a decision was made to allow Nitin Aggarwal to retain his terminal degree, but with notations on the findings placed in his academic record.”

“THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CHILD” means more money for the legal system.

When I voted with my feet at age 15 to go live with my dad again, a family court judge, like all of the other ones before tried to force me to go back to my mum. And he told me I was too young to express my views to him… He said he needed social services to tell him what my views were. . . . More delay, more work for the system, more income, more funding. That’s what it’s all about. If you need a good reason to open up the secret family courts to the public, this is one. . . .

It was horrible. Why would I want to go back to social services who had always misled the court about my views? They make it their job to lie, and to twist things, and this judge was just giving them another chance to do that.

SELF-ESTEEM is for losers.

Self-esteem is always based within the feminine mode of respect. “Everyone should have good self-esteem“, regardless of their actual contributions or abilities.

One should esteem oneself regardless of whether one is worthy of said esteem.

To this end, the dullard is praised as highly for butchering the English language as the wordsmith is praised for his beautiful sonnet evoking ancient imagery.

The incessant validation drives me crazy. Why should someone be congratulated for expected behavior? For example: one coworker answering a question correctly was rewarded with excessive praise. “That’s right, Kimberly. Thank you very much for the great answer” Why is proficiency praised when competency is expected?

This is greatly different from the previous masculine environments in which I’ve worked. Praise was doled infrequently and only upon achievement of great tasks. It makes me uncomfortable to be rewarded for menial duties.

GREG WEINER on the Beard thesis centennial.

Beard counterposes the economic interests of the delegates to abstract theoretical motive. What he overlooks is the decisive role the protection of property played in republican theory as a bulwark against political abuse. Property provided a source of power independent of the sovereign, enabling the multiple ties of dependence whose necessity Bertrand de Jouvenel emphasizes.

Thus Governor Stephen Hopkins of Rhode Island in 1764: “For it must be confessed by all men that they who are taxed at pleasure by others cannot possibly have any property, can have nothing to be called their own. They who have no property can have no freedom, but are indeed reduced to the most abject slavery. . . .” Samuel West, preaching an Election Day sermon in 1776, noted the connection between property and personal independence: “But if [the British] have the right to take our property from us without our consent, we must be wholly at their mercy for our food and raiment, and we know by sad experience that their tender mercies are cruel.” Timothy Ford, writing under the pseudonym Americanus, similarly observed in 1794 that in the absence of protection for property, there would be no laws “but such as would authorize the lounging crew to prey upon the industrious.”

THE NEW TOLERANCE: School: Got a problem with a boy in the girls’ room? Get bent.

“What the school officials have told the girls is that in order to maintain their privacy they can use a single restroom at the office which is not always available and is some distance from a lot of classes.

“We don’t believe this is reasonable accommodation because the other student has full accesses — we think that is backwards,” McReynolds said.

BABY STEPS: APA: Classifying pedophilia as a ‘sexual orientation’ was an ‘error’.

The APA changed the classification, noting in a press release “’Sexual orientation’ is not a term used in the diagnostic criteria for pedophilic disorder and its use in the DSM-5 text discussion is an error and should read ‘sexual interest.’” . . .

Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver criticized this distinction, saying the APA’s publication could “provide pederasts with all the arguments they need to remove age of consent laws, and children will suffer.”

“If reclassifying pedophilia was merely an ‘error,’ it would have been caught” during the decade-long process of developing the new DSM, added Staver.

BOOK REVIEW: What color are Whites? “Ironically, although Khiari uses much leftist rhetoric, he has no understanding of class differences—or any intra-ethnic differences for that matter. There are only ‘Whites’ who form a monolithic bloc in defense of their interests, from the poorest laborer to the globetrotting businessman. This is the kind of delusional thinking that used to characterize the real racists. Today, it has become the stock in trade of the anti-racist.”

EDUCATIONREALIST: Core Meltdown Coming. “High school math teachers treat Common Core much like people who ignored Obamacare until their policy got cancelled. We don’t much care about standards normally: math is math. When the teachers who work with the lower half of the ability spectrum really understand that the new, dramatically reduced algebra and geometry standards are based on the premise that kids will cover a good half of the math now supposedly covered in high school in middle school, that simply by the act of moving this material to middle school, the kids will understand this material deeply and thoroughly, allowing them, the high school teachers, to explore more important topics, they will go out and get drunk. I did that last year when I realized that my state actually was going to spend billions on these tests. I was so sure we’d blink at the money. But no, we’re all in.”

THEODORE DALRYMPLE: I Have Seen the Future, and it Is Idiocy.

In London I once parked outside a hotel where I proposed to stay. Parking was forbidden outside, but I stopped only to take my baggage inside. I received a parking ticket within sixty seconds, a miracle of efficiency (I genuinely admired it in a way), though it was perfectly obvious from my car’s open doors that I did not propose to stay long and was only taking my luggage into the hotel. But on another occasion when my wife telephoned the police to inform them that youths were committing arson in our front garden before her very eyes, they had no time to attend to it. A more senior officer, however, did find the time a quarter of an hour later to complain to my wife that she had wasted police time by complaining in the first place.

It often seems, then, as if modern state authorities live in a looking-glass world: What normal people regard as important is for them of no importance, while what they regard as of supreme importance normal people regard as of no importance. For them the respectable are suspect and the suspect respectable. A tweed jacket is a sign of menace, while a broken bottle is a sign of harmless intent.

FOR THE LADIES: It is older women, gay men, and feminists who tell you it’s great to cut your hair short. What conclusion can you draw from that? “Anyone who tells you that women look great with short hair almost certainly has an ulterior motive and not your best interests in mind.”

NEWS YOU CAN USE: How to drastically lower domestic violence.

It turns out that the safest place for women of all is in the marital home [PDF], living with their husbands. This goes for women with or without children, and the differences are dramatic. A single mother living alone with her children is almost thirteen times as likely to be a victim of domestic violence as a married mother. Married women without children at home are safest of all; their risk is about 3% that faced by single mothers and 10% that of single, childless women. . . .

It seems that the typical battered woman is not an oppressed, timid wife in a patriarchal household, but an “empowered single mother.” The typical batterer is not a controlling husband, but a badboy lover.

How often do we hear of this reality from feminist domestic violence advocates? Hardly ever. In fact, their primary goal seems to be to create as many single mothers as possible, which will necessarily drive up the rate of domestic violence by putting women in unsafe situations.

GOVERNMENT IS JUST A WORD FOR THE THINGS WE DO TOGETHER: Police and doctors force colonoscopy on ‘white boy’ in a search for drugs.

Racially motivated or not, this seems to be part of a trend, if the accusations are true:

Another traffic stop nightmare: “Police reports state deputies stopped Timothy Young because he turned without putting his blinker on. Again, Leo the K-9 alerts on Young’s seat. Young is taken to the Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, and just like Eckert, he’s subjected to medical procedures including x-rays of his stomach and an anal exam. Again, police found nothing, and again the procedures were done without consent, and in a county not covered by the search warrant. We’ve learned more about that drug dog, Leo, that seems to get it wrong pretty often. He might be getting it wrong because he’s not even certified in New Mexico.”

Woman comes forward with illegal probing claims: “A dog alerted to the woman, and Schaur Ives said federal agents stripped searched her at the facility, asked her to undress, to spread her genitalia and to cough. Female agents also allegedly pressed their fingers into her vagina looking for drugs. The woman claims they didn’t discover anything during the on-site strip search, so they took her to University Medical Center of El Paso.”

ED WHELAN: Transgender [sic] Grammar. “As an example of the absurdities that this politically correct usage can lead to, consider this sentence from a recent New Republic article: ‘She has also tried to castrate herself by tying off her testicles.'”

Follow-up:

On Twitter, someone who thinks I’m “confused” to maintain that male pronouns should be used for a man who imagines that he’s a woman asserts: “The rule is simple: Refer to transgendered [sic] persons in the terms they’d prefer.”

My Twitter reply: Sure. And if someone thinks he’s Napoleon, we must refer to him as His Imperial Majesty. A rule that embraces a delusion is deluded.

WILLIAM M. BRIGGS: What Happens When Research Yields Unpopular Findings.

Scientists do face enmity for their beliefs; they do endure acrimony; they do suffer ignominy—but the most vicious and wounding attacks come from fellow scientists, not civilians. Georg Cantor, anybody? Alfred Wegener? How many stories do we know of men whose work was vilified, whose livelihoods were trashed but who saw ultimate vindication (usually after death)?

Then there were the fellows whose views were wrong but who were not politely informed. They were attacked and eaten alive in academic feeding frenzies. B.F. Skinner, Emanuel Velkovski. . . .

“Psychological researchers have in no way been immune to” attacks. Now I wonder why. Frontal lobotomies ring any bells? Phrenology? Recovered memories? Life-long analysis? Drugging twelve year-old boys to make them act like five-year-old girls? Psychology has been an uninterruptible font of cockamamie theories. Why shouldn’t every new idea be greeted suspiciously? Especially when some diploma-wielding nut is dashing toward you or your issue intent on implementing his “science.”

ROBERT SAMUELSON: We Must Stop Coddling the Elderly.

MARK PERRY: Another 4 Pinocchio whopper? Obama says women are paid 77 cents on the dollar for doing the exact same work as men. “To claim that a significant portion of the raw wage gap can only be explained by discrimination is intellectually dishonest and completely unsupported by the empirical evidence. . . . And in most cases when that claim is made, there is almost no attention paid to the reality that almost all of the raw, unadjusted pay differentials can be explained by everything except discrimination – hours worked, age, marital status, children, years of continuous experience, workplace conditions, etc. In other words, once you impose the important ceteris paribus condition of ‘all other things being equal or held constant,’ the gender pay gap that we hear so much about doesn’t really exist at all.”

WESLEY J. SMITH: Planned Parenthood Abandons TX Poor Women.

Remember when several states sought to defund Planned Parenthood because they didn’t want public money to go to an abortion provider? Oh, the screaming! These laws were so uncompassionate, PP’s defenders screamed, denying poor women basic health care!

Yet, when Texas law required that abortionists have admitting privileges within 30 miles of an abortion clinic–which would not in any way prevent the clinics from providing poor women ”basic health care”– 12 Planned Parenthood clinics closed. . . .

Where is PP’s compassion? Don’t Texas poor women still need basic Ob/gyn care? Don’t they still need access to cheap birth control?

WALTER OLSON: Against ENDA. “At some point we do need to stop adding new groups to the parade—either that, or see freedom of association turn into a presumption of something else. At what point do we say no to future demands that protected-group status be accorded to employees based on political and controversial systems of belief, physical appearance (the ‘looksism’ issue), family responsibilities, résumé gaps because of unemployment or other reasons, or use of lawful products or engagement in lawful activities in off hours—to name just a few of the areas that in fact have been the subject of real-world agitation in recent years? If we say yes to all, we introduce a new presumption—familiar from the prevailing labor law in parts of Europe—that no employer should be free to terminate or take other ‘adverse action’ against an employee without being prepared to show good cause to a judge. That is exactly the goal of some thinkers on the Left, but it should appall believers in a free economy.”

CULTURAL ENRICHMENT: Do Whites Deserve to Be Attacked?

The couple were tied up in their bed in the middle of the night and robbed of their valuables. One of the young foreign criminals was later caught. He turned out to be an 18-year-old North African from Algeria who had lived in Spain for some years. The female victim, Elin Ruhlin Gjuvsland, is relieved that she did not become a racist because of this traumatic ordeal.

It turned out that the two young criminal men were asylum seekers who had recently had their applications for residency rejected. The conclusion drawn by the victims Arild Opheim and Elin Ruhlin Gjuvsland was that they and other Norwegians deserve to be violently attacked because of the country’s allegedly restrictive immigration policies. (In reality, the white natives could be a minority in their own country by the middle of this century. The capital city Oslo already contains more ethnic groups than there are member states of the United Nations). . . .

They used the term “as deserved” (som fortjent) explicitly in this newspaper essay about violent attacks against the natives.

Wow, someone still hasn’t realized what government schools are for.

Barry also reached out to the principal, who defended the teacher’s assignment and allegedly told him The New York Times story was not slanted. . . .

A friend of Barry’s received a telephone call that he says came from Cydnee Cohen, the president of the East Pennsboro Education Association. Barry’s friend was a mutual friend of Cohen’s.

“We’re having some problems with a parent in our school district,” Cohen allegedly told Barry’s friend. “I would like to know — some of it seems like he’s a neo-Nazi.”

BROKEN, OR WORKING AS PLANNED? Child support system broken.

Under new “Presumptive Child Support” (PCS) guidelines, raising children can be quite profitable. The amount of child support is presumed, without considering the needs of the non-custodial parent or child, and it exceeds what most intact families spend on their children. While the father’s share of support is taken from him, these laws presume the mother will voluntarily contribute her presumed share and is spending the father’s share only on the children. . . .

The premise is that a child’s standard of living should not change after divorce, even if household expenses do. There is no minimum standard of living for a working father. I know of a woman with three children by three airline pilots. She doesn’t work. She lives on $75,000 a year of tax-free “child” support. . . . Another lives a comfortable life with her new high-earning spouse and uses the child support to buy herself shoes.

Bankrupt debtors have more rights under our legal system than a father without primary custody. Ongoing child support frequently exceeds the maximum wage garnishment that any creditor can impose. . . .

Children notice a difference between Mom’s house and Dad’s house and prefer to spend time in the house with the money. As they complain to their father that “it’s more fun at Mom’s house,” a father begins to view his ungrateful children as large and unsatisfying debts.

CULTURAL ENRICHMENT: Multiculturalism meets female genital mutilation.

A Londoner who suffered female genital mutilation has warned that political correctness is hampering the fight to stamp it out after asking people to sign a fake petition in its favour. Leyla Hussein, 32, said many were scared to speak out against FGM because they were worried about criticising another culture.

She decided to conduct an experiment to see “how crazy political correctness has become” but was left in tears by the end. Approaching shoppers with the petition supporting FGM, she told them she wanted to protect her  “culture, traditions and rights”. In only 30 minutes 19 people signed it with some saying they believed FGM was wrong but because it was part of Ms Hussein’s culture they would add their names. Only one person refused to sign. . . .

“I kept using the word ‘it’s just mutilation’. They were like ‘yes, you are right’. How can anyone think that’s okay?”

CATHY YOUNG: The Hyped Campus Rape That Wasn’t.

The photos and videos . . . appeared to show a fully consensual encounter; the woman was seen smiling, flipping back her hair, at one point putting her hand on the back of the man’s head, and even posing for the camera with a grin on her face. Witnesses confirmed that, while both participants were clearly drunk, the “victim” was not incapacitated and “seemed like she was enjoying it”; she also left with the man afterwards, walking unassisted. (While none of the onlookers thought the sex was non-consensual, at least one or two of them berated the man as a “slut” and physically assaulted him after he stood up, bloodying his face–an ironic detail considering feminist complaints that women are stigmatized for sexually “loose” behavior while men are not.) . . .

The university is still considering whether to take disciplinary action against one or both of the students. (One may safely assume that charges against the woman for filing a false police report is not one of the options on the table.) Meanwhile, a follow-up “campus conversation” on sexism, sexual assault, and alcohol is scheduled for November 18. Since the proposed topics include “double standards,” it would be interesting to invite the discussants to consider the following scenario:

An intoxicated woman performs oral sex on an equally intoxicated man in public view. Some female passers-by outraged by the woman’s loose conduct berate her as a slut and beat her up before she leaves the scene in the man’s company. Which of the two would be seen as the victim deserving of public support?

JILLIAN KAY MELCHIOR:  The Connected Company behind Healthcare.gov. “Of course, lobbying and political contributions have long been a part of government contracting, and the revolving door has long been in continuous motion. HOUSTON: White candidate elected after implying to voters that he’s black.

As a conservative white Republican running in a district whose voters are overwhelmingly black Democrats, the odds seemed overwhelmingly against him.

Then he came up with an idea, an advertising strategy that his opponent found “disgusting.” If a white guy didn’t have a chance in a mostly African-American district, Wilson would lead voters to think he’s black. . . .

Wilson, a gleeful political troublemaker, printed direct mail pieces strongly implying that he’s black. His fliers were decorated with photographs of smiling African-American faces — which he readily admits he just lifted off websites — and captioned with the words “Please vote for our friend and neighbor Dave Wilson.”

One of his mailers said he was “Endorsed by Ron Wilson,” which longtime Houston voters might easily interpret as a statement of support from a former state representative of the same name who’s also African-American. Fine print beneath the headline says “Ron Wilson and Dave Wilson are cousins,” a reference to one of Wilson’s relatives living in Iowa.

I wonder if this makes him an “honorary” black man.

AN “HONORARY” BLACK MAN: Incognito considered black in Dolphins locker room.

Richie Incognito left Jonathan Martin a voice mail that, among other things, called Martin a “half-n—-r.” And Dolphins players of color, knowing of the voicemail, have expressed no problems with Incognito. . . .

I’ve spoken to multiple people today about this and the explanation from all of them is that in the Dolphins locker room, Richie Incognito was considered a black guy. He was accepted by the black players. He was an honorary black man.

And Jonathan Martin, who is bi-racial, was not. Indeed, Martin was considered less black than Incognito.

“Richie is honarary,” one player who left the Dolphins this offseason told me today. “I don’t expect you to understand because you’re not black. But being a black guy, being a brother is more than just about skin color. It’s about how you carry yourself. How you play. Where you come from. What you’ve experienced. A lot of things.”

CHANGING OPINIONS REGARDING MARRIAGE not what you thought. “The most stable category was among Americans who agreed in 2006 that the only legal marriage should be between one man and one woman. About three-quarters (74%) who agreed with the statement in 2006 also agreed with it in 2012. Among those who disagreed with the statement in 2006, 61% also disagreed in 2012. What is surprising in light of other polls and the dominant media reports that Americans are moving in droves from defining marriage as one man and one woman to an expanded definition is the movement of people in the other direction as well, a fact missed by surveys that do not follow the same people over time.”

ROBERT OSCAR LOPEZ: Many gay men are predators. Let’s deal with this.

I’ve been posting about the problem of predatory sex, and keep getting hostile emails from people who tell me I mustn’t ever refer to the gay subculture as “predatory.” Okay, let me toss this out: NOT ALL GAY MEN ARE PREDATORS. I figured we were all 21st-century adults and could accept this one on faith. But… many gay men are. And the culture is definitely predatory, as evidenced by the fact that a 19-year-old thinks he’s exceptionally prudish because he hasn’t joined the ranks of the anally penetrated yet. What’s “normal”? To open up at the age of 15?

If boys are getting popped in the rear at fifteen — and believe me, the Center for Disease Control indicates that they are — then who’s popping them? Other 15-year-olds?

Perhaps. But more likely, a whole lot of more experienced gay men who know how to initiate someone new to this form of sex. These are typically going to be men who have homes or apartments of their own to take the 15-year-olds, unlike other 15-year-olds who live with their mothers.

These are predators. Let’s deal with this.

It is no use for the Right to primly disapprove and declare “that’s not sporting, old chap”. When one side clings to the Marquess of Queensbury rules while the other is making use of the full range of MMA options, the outcome is certain. The Left is increasingly confident, in part because its numbers have been swollen through immigration and forty years of public school indoctrination, in part because, rather like Hitler, they simply don’t believe the other side has the backbone to stand its ground. . . .

It is time for the sleeping dog to wake up and bite back. It is time to treat them the way they have been treating us for decades. Don’t hire them. Don’t publish them. Don’t support them. Express social disapproval of them. If you suspect them of left-wing sympathies, if you suspect them of equalitarianism and feminism and other intellectual diseases, inquire further and then drive them into social quarantine. Force them to rely upon their own kind rather than subsisting like vampires upon the human cattle they despise.

Don’t whine about how they won’t let you into the clubs and companies they invaded and occupied and made their own, create new ones, make them bigger and better, and then, (and this is the crucial part), DO NOT LET THEM IN. To “foxnews” should be a verb in every right-winger’s vocabulary; Fox News is the model that shows how easily the Right can dominate and destroy the Left on the Left’s own turf so long as the Right stops trying to appease and accommodate the Left.

DSM V: Pedophilia Now Classified As A Sexual Orientation.

In the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM V), the American Psychiatric Association (APA) drew a very distinct line between pedophilia and pedophilic disorder. Pedophilia refers to a sexual orientation or profession of sexual preference devoid of consummation, whereas pedophilic disorder is defined as a compulsion and is used in reference to individuals who act on their sexuality.

APA’s decision has given rise to numerous pedophilia-advocacy groups, the chief of them being B4U-ACT, a non-profit grassroots organization based in Maryland. Created in 2003 primarily as a means for “minor-attracted persons” to be open about their sexual preferences in a supportive atmosphere, B4U-ACT is now widening the scope of their organization.

According to spokesperson and registered sex offender Paul Christiano, the pedophilia-advocacy group is “working towards de-stigmatizing the mental health community.” Christiano explained that negative societal attitudes towards minor-attracted persons “trickle down to policy-making and the mental health community.”
