OUTRAGE: Fathers sue Utah over law allowing mothers to secretly give up babies for adoption.

A dozen men are suing the state of Utah in federal court because of a law that allows mothers to put their babies up for adoption without the biological father’s consent, or sometimes even knowledge. The civil rights lawsuit claims the Utah Adoption Act has resulted in what amounts to “legalized fraud and kidnapping.” . . .

Court filings in the civil rights suit charge that Utah’s laws have prompted women from all over the country to move to Utah so they can give birth and secretly place the baby up for adoption.

The chief justice of the Utah Supreme Court warned of just such a scenario in a 2009 case in which the biological father lost his bid to gain custody. In a dissenting opinion the chief justice wrote, “Utah risks becoming a magnet for those seeking to unfairly cut off opportunities for biological fathers to assert their rights to connection with their children … not every unmarried biological father is indifferent to or unworthy of such connections.”

Plaintiff and Army veteran Christopher Carlton said that in 2010, his girlfriend told him their son had died shortly after birth. She would not tell him where the child was buried. After he sued to find out, the Pennsylvania mother admitted she had traveled to Utah to give birth and give the baby up for adoption. Nearly a year later, she told Carlton the baby, now living with an adoptive family, was actually a girl and not a boy. . . .

The suit also alleges that some Utah adoption agencies coach women on how to keep the adoption secret from the biological father. Among the evidence cited are secretly recorded phone conversations between adoption representatives and a woman posing as the sister of someone who wants to give her baby up.

In one call, a female adoption representative at the Adoption Center of Utah tells the caller, “Utah has the best adoption laws because you don’t have to say who the father is. Even if the father doesn’t sign the papers, you can still put the baby up for adoption.”

In another, the undercover woman asks, “Do I have to tell him I gave the baby up for adoption? Could I just say we had a really bad accident?” The adoption representative responds, “You don’t have to tell him anything.”

The research team decided to analyze 50 published and unpublished studies that looked at this association.

From this, they found that women demonstrate a significant “shift” in mate preference during their menstrual cycle. Furthermore, they found that women may determine which mate they prefer through a man’s body scent.

POOR ME: Woman complains that the suicide of a man she blackmailed has “ruined my life.”

Angie Wilson cries herself to sleep wishing she had not blackmailed a man before he killed himself. She has been called a murderer, lost friends, received threats and also contemplated taking her own life. “It’s ruined my life,” she told The Press yesterday. “Everyone’s going to hate me. I’m never going to be able to get a job again without being judged.” . . .

“It was just a wee mistake that’s turned into something massive and it’s changed my life forever.” . . .

During a four day-period, she sent text messages threatening to expose their relationship. She texted: “I’m only 17. It will look bad.” She demanded $3000. The man told his partner and then killed himself the next day. Later, one more text arrived from Wilson: “Make sure there’s 4K in there tomorrow or I’ll tell everyone you are a dirty old man.”

AVOIDING ACCOUNTABILITY: Senate clerks didn’t announce names during debt-ceiling vote so that Republicans could secretly switch. “Why did McConnell need other Republicans to switch their vote to yes if he, Cornyn, Collins, Murkowski, and Corker were willing to provide the five votes Reid needed to get to 60? Simple: He didn’t need them. He wanted them to switch so that no one could be accused of having provided the decisive 60th vote for cloture. The bigger the Republican crowd voting yes was, in theory the easier it would be for each of them to hide in it. In practice, Politico not only picked up on the clerks’ conspicuous silence, they found out the names of the Republicans who switched under pressure. Now, instead of being guilty of voting for a measure that’s unpopular with the base, they’re guilty and they look sneaky.”

ADVENTURES IN EUPHEMISM: NPR Spins Euthanasia as ‘Medical Care That May Hasten Death’.

LET’S STOP ENABLING THIS: ‘Gender neutral’ employee quits, then sues former bosses for $518,000 because they called her ‘lady’.

When she applied to work at the Bon Appetit Management Company, a corporate catering service, she says she purposely left the boxes beside “male” and female” on the application form unchecked, but the company never mentioned the omission.

Jones claims her coworkers repeatedly referred to her as “miss,” “lady,” and “little lady” even after she told them she believes she is “not a female or a male” and asked them to use gender neutral words when speaking to or about her. According to the suit, her coworkers failed to do so, insisting that she “looked like a woman” and comparing her to a female celebrity whom they believed looked similar to Jones.

The suit states Jones asked her bosses to require all employees to attend a diversity training session focused on gender identity issues, but the request went unheeded. Jones also claims she complained to human resources, but was never contacted in return.

Jones “cried regularly at work and at home” over her fellow employees’ refusal to embrace her androgynous identity, according to the lawsuit. After a few months, she quit.

Now, she is suing the company for $18,682 in wages and benefits she believes she would have received if she had not quit, plus an additional $500,000 for “humiliation and suffering.”

So, she wanted to be called “it”?

CLARENCE THOMAS speaks to college students about his life.

“My sadness is that we are probably today more race and difference-conscious than I was in the 1960s when I went to school. To my knowledge, I was the first black kid in Savannah, Georgia, to go to a white school. Rarely did the issue of race come up,” Thomas said during a chapel service hosted by the nondenominational Christian university. “Now, name a day it doesn’t come up. Differences in race, differences in sex, somebody doesn’t look at you right, somebody says something. Everybody is sensitive. If I had been as sensitive as that in the 1960s, I’d still be in Savannah. Every person in this room has endured a slight. Every person. Somebody has said something that has hurt their feelings or did something to them — left them out.

“That’s a part of the deal,” he added. . . .

Throughout his career, Thomas said, he has experienced more instances of discrimination and poor treatment in the North than the South.

“The worst I have been treated was by northern liberal elites. The absolute worst I have ever been treated,” Thomas said. “The worst things that have been done to me, the worst things that have been said about me, by northern liberal elites, not by the people of Savannah, Georgia.”

WALTER WILLIAMS: Dependency, Not Poverty.

The Census Bureau pegs the poverty rate among blacks at 35 percent and among whites at 13 percent. The illegitimacy rate among blacks is 72 percent, and among whites it’s 30 percent. A statistic that one doesn’t hear much about is that the poverty rate among black married families has been in the single digits for more than two decades, currently at 8 percent. For married white families, it’s 5 percent. Now the politically incorrect questions: Whose fault is it to have children without the benefit of marriage and risk a life of dependency? Do people have free will, or are they governed by instincts?

There may be some pinhead sociologists who blame the weak black family structure on racial discrimination. But why was the black illegitimacy rate only 14 percent in 1940, and why, as Dr. Thomas Sowell reports, do we find that census data “going back a hundred years, when blacks were just one generation out of slavery … showed that a slightly higher percentage of black adults had married than white adults. This fact remained true in every census from 1890 to 1940”? Is anyone willing to advance the argument that the reason the illegitimacy rate among blacks was lower and marriage rates higher in earlier periods was there was less racial discrimination and greater opportunity?

Unlike the government, which apparently waits until after the start-up date to begin building large pieces of major computer systems, businesses often tackle problems head on and well in advance. Faced with the need to have employees be working 29 hours or less a week in the 2013 look-back period, many likely started making changes back in 2012. Our company, for example, shifted everyone we could to part time in the fourth quarter of 2012. I know from talking to the owners of several restaurant chains that they were making their changes even earlier in 2012. One employee of mine went to Hawaii in October of 2012 and said that all the talk among the resort employees was how they were getting cut to part-time over Obamacare.

Yes, the employer mandate was eventually delayed, but by the time the delay was announced, every reasonably forward-looking company that was going to make changes had already done so. Having made the changes, there is no way they were going to switch back, and then back yet again when the Administration finally stumbles onto an actual implementation date.

If this chart gets any traction over the next few days, expect to see a lot of ignorance as PPACA defenders claim that the fall in low-wage work hours can’t possibly have anything to do with the PPACA because the employer mandate has not even started. Now you know why this argument is wrong. The PPACA, and associated IRS implementation rules, drove companies to convert full-time to part-time jobs as early as 2012.

LINDA THOM: Hispanic Maternal Poverty—Another Problem That Amnesty Won’t “Get Behind Us.”

From the CDC report: “Hispanic mothers (8.2% of Hispanic births) were more than twice as likely” as any other racial or ethnic group to be uninsured. Hispanic women of Central and South American origins were the most likely to be uninsured (13.3%).

For all Hispanic birth mothers, native-born and immigrant, 61% of births were funded by Medicaid, the taxpayer-funded means-tested, welfare program of health coverage for low income and poor people. Medicaid funded three-quarters of teen births and almost two-thirds (65.5%) of births to unmarried women. The CDC report adds: “Uninsured mothers were the most likely to have less than a high school education (44%).”

Almost half of immigrants to the US are Hispanic, mostly Mexicans and Central and South Americans. Unfortunately, they and their children and grandchildren represent a disproportionate number of unmarried parents, teen parents and uneducated parents.

They are poor and they continue to be poor, generation after generation. Amnesty will not fix this.

It shows that, in 2010, 3,999,386 women gave birth and of those 945,180 were Hispanic (23.6%). Of the 372,175 births to teens, one third (33.2%) were Hispanic. Of the 1,633,471 births to unmarried women, 504,411 (31%) were to Hispanic mothers. In 2010, 44% of Hispanic birth mothers were U.S.-born and 56% foreign-born.

MARC THIESSEN: Obama validates the conservative case against the employer mandate.

For years, the Obama administration has been arguing that all this talk from Obamacare critics about how the employer mandate creates an incentive to lay off workers or cut hours was nothing more than a right-wing myth.

Well, apparently they believe the myth at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. How else to explain the Obama administration’s decision yesterday to delay the employer mandate for businesses with 50-99 workers — removing the incentives for layoffs? The White House knows that the employer mandate is a job killer — and they can’t afford to have millions of Americans losing their full-time jobs right before the mid-terms elections.

But the administration is doing more than removing artificial incentives for layoffs. They are also using coercion to prevent them — by informing businesses with 100 or more employees that they will not be allowed to lay off workers to fit into the 50-99 employee category.  Indeed, the administration is requiring employers to “certify” on their tax forms — on pain of perjury — that they are not laying off workers to avoid Obamacare mandates.

Think about what that means: American businesses now have to justify to their personnel decisions to the IRS. If you’re a business with 101 employees, and you lay off two workers, you have to explain to Big Brother why you did it.

DOG BITES MAN: Barack “I Can Do Whatever I Want” Obama Rewrites ObamaCare Again. “Obviously, Our Great Leader’s action is benign, comrades. Our Great Leader is simply ‘giving’ some employers ‘extra time’ before they are penalized. The Washington Post even admits Our Great Leader has this power, and that the only question was how he would exercise it. And he has chosen to exercise it in a way that will ‘lighten the burden’ for these few poor souls.”

To our privileged eyes, the legal system appears biased in women’s favor. Even when convicted of identical crimes, men are far more likely than women to be sentenced to prison in the first place, and when they are, their sentences are on average more than 60% longer. Only men and not women are required to register with the Selective Service. Women may receive government funds to start businesses that are unavailable to men. The law leans heavily in women’s favor when it comes to adoption, divorce, and child custody. Since a man has zero say in whether a woman chooses to keep or abort a fetus, he literally has zero “reproductive rights,” yet he will be jailed if he does not financially support his spawn. Both the law and public sentiment automatically favor women in any domestic dispute. Women consume a majority of entitlement programs while contributing a minority of taxes. . . .

Double standards abound. Criticizing a girl’s looks is nearly a hate crime, while fat bald males with tiny schweens are fair game for cackling shrieks of ridicule. Men merely get circumcised, while women suffer “genital mutilation.” Adult males who have sex with young women are pedophiles, while adult females who have sex with young men are “cougars.” If a man loses at romance he’s a loser, whereas a woman has the privilege of claiming she was “wronged.” Women getting raped is never a laughing matter; men getting raped is always a laughing matter.

Perhaps most importantly, men can’t win when it comes to expressing emotions. We’re depicted as coldhearted for maintaining a stiff upper lip, but as weak if we cry. And still you wonder why we die younger

SLAP ON THE WRIST: Teen who fathered his teacher’s baby sues school district over negligence after his molester is released from jail six months early. “Whitehurst was arrested last July and charged with 41 counts of sex and oral copulation with a minor. Faced with a 29-year prison sentence, the former AP English teacher pleaded guilty to four counts of unlawful sex with a minor and two counts of oral copulation with a minor in exchange for the dismissal of the other charges against her. Whitehurst was sentenced to a year in prison in August, but was released last month after serving only six months. She will remain on probation for five years and must register as a sex offender for life. The plea deal also mandates that Whitehurst undergo counselling.”

INTERSTATE COMMERCE: The State Tax Grab: Cash-hungry governments are shaking down nonresident businesses and workers.

Until recently, one of the most aggressive—and, to businesses, infuriating—assertions of tax nexus took place in New Jersey. According to congressional testimony by owners of trucking companies and the American Trucking Associations, beginning around 2000, revenue agents from New Jersey’s department of taxation began descending on truck stops, weigh stations, and loading docks and waylaying trucks, demanding that the owners pay at least Jersey’s $1,100 minimum corporate-franchise tax before letting the drivers proceed. Many of the vehicles—about 40,000 have been stopped—worked for companies with zero connection to New Jersey, other than making a pickup or delivery there. New Jersey was, in essence, charging a $1,100 entry fee into the state. . . .

Robert Pitcher, vice president of government relations for the American Trucking Associations, notes that New Jersey’s aggressive tax posture has eased since the 2009 election of Governor Chris Christie, who has vowed to improve the state’s business climate. But Pitcher believes that, without congressional action, the state could resume its accosting of trucks at any time.

STEVE SAILER: Russians win Olympic fashion parade by rejecting unisex.

The Russians won the Opening Ceremony parade of nations fashion contest by simply rejecting the unisex orthodoxy for national uniforms. Just about every other country dressed both its male and female athletes identically, which can work at the Summer Games because that athletes aren’t wearing all that much in the way of clothes. But, at the Winter Games, everybody has to march into the stadium in heavily insulated winter wear, so females curves get buried. . . .

A few Eastern European countries dissented from unisex dogma. The Czechs at least gave the boys and girls different colored hats. The Poles were subtly but elegantly varied with the men in gray and white, the women in white.

The Russians went all the way and dressed the men in some sort of dark pea coat-like militaristic thing to make their men look strong in the upper body, while their women wore long fake fur coats nipped in at the waist and flaring over the hips to make them look sexy. The Russian’s execution of this basic concept — make our men look manly, our women look womanly — may have been less than ideal, but in the Culture War going on in Sochi, getting the basic concept right is a win for the Russkies.

SHOCK: NC ‘Moral Marchers’ Must Have Photo IDs To Participate In Protest Against Photo ID Laws.

Bused-in activists and professional agitators, including the NC NAACP are in  Raleigh, North Carolina, today for the so-called “Moral March” – morality being defined as support for progressive causes such as abortion rights, and minimum wage hikes, and opposition to  “racist” voter ID requirements.

Problem is, one of the important do’s on the list of  Do’s and Don’ts for Marchers, is for them to bring a “driver’s license, passport or other valid photo id” to the march, and make sure they have their photo ID handy “at all times.”

FRANÇOIS HOLLANDE Halts Same-Sex Parenting Law After Huge Pro-Traditional Family March.

Jean-Pierre Delaume-Myard, a spokesman for La Manif Pour Tous – who is himself gay – told Vatican Radio Friday that children are the “first victims” of same-sex marriage.

“It deprives them of a father and a mother,” he said. “The desire to have a child by a homosexual cannot justify any kind of solution to fill this gap. Every child has the right to have a father and a mother.” . . .

Claiming that “the majority of homosexuals had never asked for such a thing,” Delaume-Myard said the fact that “civil unions” have been in existence in France for years and have only been chosen by four percent of gay people in the country is evidence that same-sex marriage is not a popular cause for this group.

Moreover, medically assisted procreation and surrogate pregnancies, he said, turn women and children into mere commodities.

In fact, Putin has affirmed that all gay athletes and visitors need to do is not discuss homosexuality with Russian children. That’s all. So why the overblown response? Why has our president refused to attend or even to send a high-ranking representative of our government? . . .

It’s not really about gay “rights” and it’s not really even about democracy in Ukraine, which I highly doubt the U.S. actually gives a flip about.   It’s about money and political influence for the EU, and political power and influence for the U.S. Gays are just the whores that are being paid to act as the human rights’ angle to suck in the American populace.

CHRISTIAN NICE GUYS are abused.

There becomes a point where you will be abused for your time. If you continually accept you should know that your help with almost always be abused because you’ll become that “guy” that all women go to for help.

There are certain circumstances in which you should NEVER accept.

• If a woman has a husband or boyfriend who can do the task she asked you then you should never accept. Even if she says he is busy she should still not be asking you. It is the husbands duty to find someone else to help if she has a problem, and the husband should not be asking you to help his wife either. That’s what family is for, or asking the church itself. They’re almost always just going to be abusing your time as a nice guy.
• If a woman wants to talk about emotions — especially after a break up, or an attractive guy they are talking to — they are just using you as an emotional tampon. Yes, gross. Never accept.
• Likewise, if a woman comes to you about any issues she is having with men and working things out with him just don’t do it. She should be talking to the man in question instead — not you or her girlfriends.

The scientific establishment has painted itself into a corner over global warming.

I never disputed the fact that you’re a woman. And yet today, I have spent literally 12 hours being viciously abused by the transgender[sic] community – egged on by your own Tweeting last night – that you were somehow very dismayed by the way the interview had gone.

If you’re vilified no matter what, then stop playing their game.
