GREGORY HOOD: Sexual Serfdom.

In a culture where birth control, abortion, prophylactics, and a dizzying array of welfare programs and “advocates” exist for women, many of the consequences of sexual promiscuity are removed. At the same time, laws regarding divorce, child support, alimony, and other aspects of what is still ironically termed “family law” play out in a largely consequence-free environment for women’s sexual choice. The result is the introduction of a class system that allows women to, theoretically, have their cake and eat it too. The legal and societal structure actively punishes chastity, rewards adultery, and subsidizes irresponsible behavior. Is there any more stereotypically “modern” figure than the single mother? Perhaps Dan Quayle’s comments about Murphy Brown were prophetic after all. . . .

For single women, all the SNAP cards in the world don’t substitute for a father, and the grim objective reality shows that a traditional family outperforms strong womyn who think they can “have it all.” The cold tale of demographics suggests that feminism is simply a transition stage between the end of a decadent society and the takeover by a more vital, patriarchal one. The results are in – and feminism is revealed as a failed social experiment sustained only by a vast assemblage of propaganda, subsidies, and legal protection.

Enter feminism, especially its obnoxious online variety. The feminist critique of entitlement is projection at its most crude, as fundamentally modern feminism is about defending ingrained privilege and propping up the crumbling System. Contemporary “strong women” feel entitled to abort their children without the interference from the father, obtain financial rewards after cheating on their husbands, and receive sexual attention even after they grow fat, old, or unattractive.

More than that, a host of television networks, magazines, academic studies departments, and media figures tell them that they are heroic figures for giving in to their lowest desires. Of course, it doesn’t take much to be a hero in modern America, and you don’t have to be particularly brave for the media to call you “strong” – if you are part of the right social class. Women who actually display real strength – the type who bear children, defend their families, and, in the most literal definition of “strong,” lift weights and stay in shape – are condemned as traitors to their sex.

Instead of standing up to barbarism and ignorance, too often we have looked away in embarrassment or fear. How many teachers have averted their gaze when 13-year-old Muslim girls suddenly disappear from the classroom to be taken “home” for a forced marriage, because this would present unwelcome evidence that some cultures are less valid than others? . . .

It makes me even angrier now, 30 years on, thinking of the lost decades when good people did nothing to prevent the toxic situation outlined this week by the chief inspector of schools. Music and dancing banned in a primary school because they are un-Islamic. Muslim pupils not allowed to study Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing because it shows young people falling in love and marrying. A preacher who believes homosexuals should be stoned to death invited to address an assembly – in a British school in a British town, forsooth. Children as young as six told that Western women are “white prostitutes”, if you please.

Sir Michael Wilshaw, the Ofsted chief, said that hardline Islamists wanted to impose a “narrow, faith-based ideology” on schools in Birmingham, though clearly the problem is not confined to one city. Now Bradford, Luton and east London are being investigated.

And still our politicians will not face up to what multiculturalism has unleashed: one of the biggest peacetime challenges ever faced by Britain. . . .

I think the battle we must fight now really has very little to do with sincere religious belief. It’s about social control, repression, misogyny and cruelty.

BAD BOY: Women leave lust-fuelled comments about model-like US felon Jeremy Meeks’s mugshot on Facebook.

Jeremy Meeks, a 30-year-old convicted felon, was one of four men arrested on Wednesday in raids in Stockton, California, after a spate of shootings and robberies.

His mugshot has since received more than 13,700 likes and 3,200 comments, and has been shared more than 300 times on the Stockton Police Department’s Facebook page.

“OMGGG superrrrrr Delicious,” commented Adjutha Lambertina.

Another commenter, Michelle Asher Morales, asked: “Can we be handcuffed together … lordy!!”.

Amanda Sullivan also left a comment, saying the mugshot was “the most attractive looking mug shot I’ve ever seen!”.

Funny, not too much there about wanting to “fix” him into a nice guy. It’s almost as if that’s not the reason women are into handsome criminals.

EVEN THE FEDS ADMIT Minimum Wages Cause Unemployment.

Minimum wage advocates rarely address the issue of minimum wage exemptions. If minimum wage is supposed to help those who otherwise would not earn a “living wage,” why exempt people with disabilities — often the least productive of us all?

Ironically, Congress presumes the answer to this question is in the minimum wage legislation itself, undermining its logic in the process.

When Congress passed the 14(c) exemption along with minimum wage in 1938, they did so, as quoted above, “to prevent curtailment of opportunities for employment” of people with disabilities. The authors of the bill understood that minimum wage leads to unemployment for those “whose earning or productive capacity is impaired.” So in order to avoid the negative publicity associated with putting people with disabilities out of work, they exempted such people from minimum wage.

MOSUL’S CHRISTIANS Say Goodbye.

Since the Americans invaded Iraq in 2003, he estimates, Mosul’s Christian population dwindled from 35,000 to some 3,000. “Now there is no one left,” he said. Most of them have joined the estimated 500,000 refugees who have fled the ISIS advance; many of the Christians, including the archbishop, have opted for the relative security of Iraqi Kurdistan. . . .

In 2003, it was estimated that some 1.5 million Iraqis were Christians, about 5 percent of the population. Since then, the overwhelming majority has reacted to widening sectarian conflict and a series of terrorist attacks by leaving the country.

I told him that what he had said was racist and I was going to write it down. Then he said, ‘You should get rid of the white kids, that is what the community would want you to do.'”

JOHN ZMIRAK: Churches Should Cease Pro-Immigration Push. Let’s be honest. They’re not pro-immigration. They’re anti-sovereignty.

In the buildup to that primary, Kenney penned an astonishing article in which he demonized opponents of amnesty as “know-nothings,” “nativists” and “clowns.” Citing none of the rational opponents of amnesty, but instead a collection of anonymous xenophobic rants, Kenney portrayed Brat supporters as hateful and dangerous heirs to the Ku Klux Klan, and called for Republicans to “drive them out” of the party. . . .

Do a little more digging on Mr. Kenney, and you see exactly why he regards American patriotism as suspect: He is a politicized Catholic supremacist, who suggests that his co-religionists (I am one of them) ought to abandon any concern for the well-being of our fellow-Americans, and cast our political loyalty with our church, instead of our country.

We must work for a “Catholic restoration,” and shed “worldly ideologies” such as American democratic capitalism. We should “stop being… conservative[s],” and form our political views according to whatever statements, at whatever level of authority, come out of the Vatican.

Funny. Last time I checked, the Vatican had a wall around it, and guards.

PAUL MCHUGH: Transgender [sic] Surgery Isn’t the Solution: A drastic physical change doesn’t address underlying psycho-social troubles. The article originally appeared in the Wall Street Journal here.

Psychiatrists obviously must challenge the solipsistic concept that what is in the mind cannot be questioned. Disorders of consciousness, after all, represent psychiatry’s domain; declaring them off-limits would eliminate the field. Many will recall how, in the 1990s, an accusation of parental sex abuse of children was deemed unquestionable by the solipsists of the “recovered memory” craze.

You won’t hear it from those championing transgender [sic] equality, but controlled and follow-up studies reveal fundamental problems with this movement. . . .

A 2011 study at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden [PDF] produced the most illuminating results yet regarding the transgendered [sic], evidence that should give advocates pause. The long-term study—up to 30 years—followed 324 people who had sex-reassignment surgery. The study revealed that beginning about 10 years after having the surgery, the transgendered [sic] began to experience increasing mental difficulties. Most shockingly, their suicide mortality rose almost 20-fold above the comparable nontransgender [sic] population. This disturbing result has as yet no explanation but probably reflects the growing sense of isolation reported by the aging transgendered [sic] after surgery. The high suicide rate certainly challenges the surgery prescription.

And yet, such voluntary third-party mutilations (known in the field as surgeries) are increasingly being funded by the state. Meanwhile, voluntary reparative therapy for people who wish to be heterosexual is increasingly being banned.

NO, mass murder isn’t a “white” thing.

There is no evidence whatsoever that mass killings are a characteristically white phenomenon.

And there never was.

In fact, the group most disproportionately represented on the Mother Jones chart is Americans of Asian descent. While only 6 percent of the population, they have been 15 percent of the 31-year period’s last 20 mass killers, 13 percent of the last 30, and 9 percent of the last 66. This is quite interesting, too, since Americans of Asian descent have a very low crime rate in general.

And blacks are overrepresented among serial killers. But by all means let’s blame white people.

The old trope of “born this way” was once useful for attaining the goals of the “gay rights” movement, but now is obsolete in the new “trans” movement. The shift from World War G to World War T requires new munitions.

Part of the problem, she argues, is that the nuance and fluidity of human sexual experience makes it hard to effectively categorize and analyze. . . .

Walters acknowledged the challenge she faces given how deeply ingrained in the LGBT discussion the “born this way” line is. “It has become — not just for gays but for liberal allies — the position you’re supposed to take,” she said, and arguing otherwise is often seen as akin to arguing against gay rights altogether. That’s why Walters said her book specifically targets straight allies: She hopes to convince them, “You don’t need to rely on flimsy science, on notions of compulsion, on notions of immutability, in order to make a strong case for civil rights.”

Before, you were a bigot to think that people had a choice. Now you’re a bigot for thinking that they don’t. All that’s left to do is to rewrite the case for “gay rights” in accordance with the new paradigm. We’ve always been at war with Eastasia.

As marriage becomes seen as something only for the elite, those groups which have experienced the highest divorce rates have retreated from marriage. As a result, we should expect to see a decline in overall divorce rates. Henry originally was charged with rape but a jury convicted her of unlawful sexual intercourse.

Judge Paul Cuthbertson said the verdict suggested the boy either agreed to have sex or Henry failed to realise he did not agree.

He said Henry was a lonely single mother of three and in some respects she was someone to be pitied.

“Life has not dealt you a good hand of cards,” he said.

AN ARTICLE THAT FILLS A MUCH-NEEDED GAP: Women appear in only 5 percent of sports newsprint. But would a higher percentage actually be appropriate?

The sports page is read primarily by men, who are probably interested in keeping up on water cooler topics (male athletic events, not female ones) and perhaps even on athletic achievements generally, which are dominated by men. Women aren’t even a close second, because they lag behind even boys:

The boys win in every category… by a wide margin. And those are just high-school age male children in one country that has about 5% of the world’s population, compared to the best adult female athletes in the entire world.

Let’s allow that to sink in for a moment… The fastest female athletes in the world – professionals who have received years of the best coaching and equipment money can buy, cannot even come close to the best efforts of amateur U.S. high school boys in after-school programs.

Remember when the U.S. Olympic women’s hockey team lost to a high school boys’ team? Maybe there should be more articles about those sorts of events. Y’know, so female athletes can get more exposure.

CURIOUS: Are female hormones playing a key role in obesity epidemic?

An imbalance of female sex hormones among men in Western nations may be contributing to high levels of male obesity, according to new research from the University of Adelaide.

In a paper published in the online journal PLOS ONE, researchers from the University’s School of Medical Sciences suggest that obesity among Western men could be linked with exposure to substances containing the female sex hormone estrogen – substances that are more often found in affluent societies, such as soy products and plastics.

JAYMAN on “gun culture”:

Gun violence in America is primarily concentrated in areas with large numbers of Blacks and Hispanics. . . .

But taken together, rates of gun violence across Canada and the U.S. cannot be explained solely by certain racial minorities. Indeed, gun violence appears higher in some White areas as well, primarily Greater Appalachia.

This brings me to another topic thrown about in this whole discussion. That is the issue of “gun culture.” . . . There is no one “American” culture, and there never was. Support for permissive gun laws and a heavily gun-centric focus are hallmarks of some of the American nations, particularly the Deep South, Greater Appalachia, and the Far West . . .

The ancestors of the people that live in these areas came from certain, more aggressive peripheral areas of the British Isles. In the case of the settlers of the Tidewater and the Deep South, the Cavaliers, their ancestors hailed from southwest England. The founders of Greater Appalachia were the descendents the aggressive Border Reivers of the rugged English-Scottish border area.

The martial traditions of these groups live on in the nations of American South. Individuals from these nations, especially those from Greater Appalachia, also went on to found the Far West, as process which itself involved a strong degree of sorting for even tougher, more free-spirited people, as described in my earlier post.

This highlights an important fallacy on the matter of guns and the discussion of “culture” in general in most mainstream circles. People fail to consider where culture comes from. “Culture” is not some intangible, otherworldly agent. Culture is produced by people.

But Republican politicians have been bought off by its semi-privatized nature, which creates a lot of for-profit opportunities for firms employing Republican lobbyists. The solution is perhaps to let the Democrats de-privatize the system, and then the Republicans can oppose it on general principles.”

IT GETS BETTER: Study: Relationship problems, not family rejection, leading cause of higher gay suicides.

“We tend to assume that the psychological distress LGBTI people are often going through is due to family rejection. But it seems that’s not so much the case. The conflict seems to be largely related to relationship problems, with partners,” Dr. Skerrett said.

In fact, he said, “The numbers are telling us there’s a general acceptance at the family level,” something he said is “great” and “really heartening!”

Instead, the study, which was published on April 2 in Asia Pacific Psychiatry, found that “LGBT individuals experienced relationship problems more often” than heterosexuals, “with relationship conflict also being more frequent than in non‐LGBT cases.”

That confirms previous studies finding that homosexuals also face higher rates of intimate partner violence than heterosexuals. A 2007 study in the Journal of Urban Health, which is published by the New York Academy of Medicine, found that 32 percent of homosexuals have been abused by at least one partner during their lifetime.

As various political action and education groups have built up over the years working to slow immigration into America, those groups and their leaders have stayed away from criticism of “refugees” because apparently they viewed them as untouchable and above criticism in the public mind.

JUST SAY NO TO APOSTGAYCY: Double-speak from the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Britain. There shalt be no apostates from homosexuality.

On the one hand, they acknowledge: “It is not the case that sexual orientation is immutable or might not vary to some extent in a person’s life” and that “sexual orientation is determined by a combination of [not only] biological [factors but also] postnatal environmental factors.” On the other hand they adamantly reject any right of patient self-determination in seeking therapeutic help to facilitate sexual orientation change, referring euphemistically to “a right to protection from therapies that … that purport to change sexual orientation.”

The “right to protection” from such therapies already exists: simply don’t go to them. No one is putting a gun to the person’s head. But this Orwellian formulation by the RCP really means: We seek to prohibit anyone from seeking help in facilitating the very sexual orientation change that we have already acknowledged exists when we say that “it is not the case that sexual orientation is immutable.”

It’s almost as if there’s a concerted effort to increase and maintain the number of confused young men in society. If only we could identify what group this might benefit.

JUST ANOTHER DAY IN WASHINGTON: Payday Lenders File Lawsuit To Shut Down ‘Operation Choke Point’.

Launched in 2013 by the Obama administration, Operation Choke Point “was created by the Justice Department to ‘choke out’ companies the Administration considers a ‘high risk’ or otherwise objectionable, despite the fact that they are legal businesses,” according to a recent staff report from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Payday lenders as well as manufacturers, distributors, and retailers of firearms are among the companies the report identified as targeted as “objectionable” by the initiative.

In a statement released on Friday, Dennis Shaul, the CEO of the payday lending trade association, the Community Financial Services Association [CFSA], said “[i]t is unfortunate that we now must resort to litigation to protect legal, regulated businesses from this improper federal regulatory overreach.” . . .

The complaint further charges that “The Defendant agencies’ actions were taken without observance of the procedures required by law, are arbitrary and capricious, exceed Defendants’ statutory authority, and deprive Plaintiffs of liberty interests without due process of law.”

It seems that the government has a good model going: Do something egregiously illegal, convince your opponents to go through a lengthy legal process, and by the time a court tells you to go easy (if that happens at all), either keep going or just stop if you’ve already done what you had wanted to do in the first place. Repeat.

AGAINST WHOM? Across America, Police Departments Are Quietly Preparing For War. Note that the buildup has coincided with persistent attempts to disarm the general public.

Note how even when talking about women deliberately creating fatherless children in the most undeniable sense, the only moral judgement is on the man who donated the sperm. They aren’t objecting to the cultural idea that a woman would deliberately create a fatherless child, but to the cultural idea that the man should not have to pay her large sums of money as a reward for her making this awful choice. . . .

Also note that the solution to unwed motherhood isn’t to send a moral message that unwed motherhood deprives children of fathers. The solution is to bolster unwed motherhood by making sure our new family model is consistently followed. Morally marriage is no longer the solution, and this will remain the case so long as we wrongly embrace child support as something moral, instead something evil.

Acceptable targets change over time. Teachers moved up the chain, cops moved down. Makes sense, really—the crime rate was an issue in 80s and early 90s, then crime rates improved. Meanwhile, we’d spent twenty years thinking that affirmative action and equal opportunity would end the achievement gap and that didn’t pan out—time to blame teachers.

So teachers should hunker down, I guess—attentions and fashions will change again. . . .

Cops were rescued from public condemnation by a dramatic reduction in crime—which they may or may not have contributed to. Teachers won’t be rescued by a decreased achievement gap. We’ll just have to wait for a new scapegoat to another big policy problem. Alternately, for society to accept that we’ll never end the achievement gap.

These articles about how little boys on average really want to play with baby dolls as much as little girls and little girls want to play with toy guns as much as little boys didn’t seem all that persuasive to me when I was 14.

But when I read them over 40 years ago, they were at least fairly novel. And a massive social experiment was then going on in which true-believing young parents were trying to impose feminist theories of childrearing on their newborns.

The results of this massive 1970s experiment came in long, long ago: Gender-neutral childrearing turned out to be highly ineffectual because it was immensely unpopular with its subjects. Little boys and little girls whined and nagged and threw temper tantrums until their feminist parents broke down and gave them the incredibly sexist toys they insisted upon.

In fact, the opposite happened of what feminists predicted in 1969. As society got richer and more choices became available, little kids’ toy and media choices diverged even more along lines of sex.
