DUMB, Uneducated, And Eager To Deceive: Media Coverage Of Religious Liberty In A Nutshell.

Even Reason, whose conception of liberty this week is not broad enough to include religious liberty, tweeted out this untrue statement about the bill:

Libertarians, instead of slavishly going to bat for homosexual activists, should keep in mind that homosexual activists like big government. They should listen to Walter Block when he points out that homosexual activists aren’t libertarian, instead of scrubbing his crimethink from the internet.

At the same time, conservatives should support freedom of association, not merely “religious liberty.” And they should support it for everyone, not just for religious people. As Ed Whelan writes, “The libertarian case for a broad scaling back of antidiscrimination laws—yes, possibly including a wholesale repeal of protections for religious persons against being discriminated against on religious grounds—is compelling.”
